About Dakota
Hi, my name is Dakota, my early life was not ideal, due to the recent bushfires I lost my home and have come into rescue but despite that I am one happy, lovable little lady.
I have big ears and a big personality to match. I love playtime, exploring the house and backyard, and being taught new tricks (you should see how good I am at sit and stay already).
My favourite games are chasing my sister and the little human around the backyard, fetching my tennis balls, squeaking toys and hide and go seek with my foster parents.
I currently live indoors and outdoors and have really improved on my toilet training. Just be ready to let me outside first thing in the morning!
My foster family say that I am very switched on and think I would really suit a furever family that wants to invest their time in furthering my training.
Despite my love of play, I am very snuggly and affectionate and am not shy when it comes to cuddles and kisses, never mind how much the cat protests.
I’m a lady on the smaller side and have used this to my advantage when it comes to finding a comfy lap to lie on at night.
If you’re looking for the perfect balance between energetic and chilled, you’ve found me.
To keep me going I need a good diet. I currently enjoy fresh mince and Blackhawk bickies twice daily with the occasional pig’s ear or treat filled Kong. I am incredibly inquisitive, and love treats that require a bit of work to get at.
I am learning, with some instruction from my foster parents, that sharing is caring and that I don’t need to try and eat my sister’s dinner when I have my own bowl of food. They would suggest, that if you have other fur babies, we should be fed out of view of each other. In saying that, in all other areas I love sharing my time and cuddles with other dogs and have enjoyed several playdates with much larger pups.
I can’t wait to meet my furever family who will give me as much love as I will give them.
If you think I may be the perfect fit for you, please submit an application so my people can hook you up for a chance to meet with me.

If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
