About Elly
* not cat or bird friendly *
Meet BTG Foster Greyhound Elly, a pretty little black girl who was 4 years old in January. She is happy, lively and active and will definitely need a backyard to do her mad zoomies around or to play with her soccer or tennis balls.
After a mad few minutes she is happy to laze around and do what greyhounds do best. Sleep!
She has adjusted to home life with ease and is a quick and willing learner.
Elly is very clean inside and does not get up to any mischief either inside or outside.
Elly is currently living very happily as an only dog and can be left alone while you are out.
Come home in one hour or eight and she just as excited to see you.
She loves people, all people, crowds she just wants to join in on the fun!
Elly loves to be patted and cuddled but can amuse herself if you are too busy.
She does not get up on a (human) bed or couch but if you want a dog to snuggle up to at night on the couch I am sure she could be persuaded.
Elly loves a ride in the car and travels well with either her head out the window or laying down quietly.
She loves her food, all food, is not a picky eater and does not counter surf or bother you when you are eating.
She learns very quickly and respects that she is not allowed in the food preparation area of the kitchen.
Come bed time she settles quickly and sleeps quietly all night.
She Loves her daily walk, a half an hour is all she wants and is good on the lead.
She does not sleep startle, is not bed or toy protective, And is happy to share her food with you.
A perfect house guest.
Elly is good with dogs she knows but is fearful of strange (non greyhound) dogs rushing up in her face and will give a warning growl.
Move her away and she is Fine with a ‘whatever’ attitude.
I think with a little more time she will get used to this behaviour.
Unfortunately she is not cat or bird friendly.
All in all, she’s beautiful and I don’t think you will be disappointed if you meet this loving little girl.
Adoption details
All BTG greyhounds are Desexed, C5 Vaccinated, Wormed & Heart Worm treated prior to adoption.
They have been fostered for a minimum of 8 weeks to allow maximum training and preparation for home life.
A post adoption trial period of 4 weeks is available to help families decide if the greyhound is the right one for them.
We also offer Foster to Adopt options for those who love the idea of teaching a greyhound in their home with the view to adopt it once it has "graduated" to Home Life status. This is a wonderful experience, to watch it blossom in your own home with your guidance and love. An ideal way to make sure this is the perfect dog for you.
