Hi, my name is Joey. Lovely to meet you! As you may have guessed I am on the hunt for a family. I'll tell you a little about myself and then if I am a good fit you can arrange a meet with my rescue! So here goes!
I was found wandering on the street all alone at just 12 weeks old. I was covered in fleas, wormy, and not looking so good. Nobody ever came for me, and I am glad they didn't- I deserve a lot better than what I got! The lovely people who found me realised after a few days that nobody was missing me, so they asked OTC for some help. With no collar, no microchip, and no health care given- they got right to work on all my vet stuff and training! I am now able to be adopted as my 'stray time' has been served.
Since coming into care I have been a very friendly, happy boy. I sleep inside at night in a crate, and will let you know when I need to go out to toilet. I'm a very easy going boy and will sometimes just hang out on the deck to sleep if I don't feel like coming back in. So no need to wait for me, I'm cruisey. I am quiet wherever I sleep. Due to my carers working full time, I am alone for around 10hrs a day, 5x a week with my fur siblings- 2 small dogs. I am great on car rides I just fall asleep once I am buckled in! I LOVE the ball, oh and chew toys of course! Commands I know include sit, shake, wait- I have no reported fears thus far and am really well behaved at the vet.
My carers have put a lot of effort into raising me to be a gentle and happy boy, and my eagerness to please makes us the perfect team. They have no doubt I will fit beautifully into any home who can offer me the following!
- 4 outings per week for exercise and stimulation - I have medium-high energy levels, so once I am fully vaccinated, I would benefit from walks, runs or park trips to sniff, roll, run and play!
- decent fencing to keep me safe
- adequate outdoor shelter and shade
- sleeping inside at night or on an undercover area
- ongoing training to ensure I blossom into a balanced, happy dog with boundaries and control
- another dog at home for company
- all the snuggles and treats in the world!
So what do you think, could we be a match? Apply for me now; cuties like me don't last long!

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
