About Lou
Hi I’m Loula, but my friends call me Lou. I’m an 7-year-old British Bulldog - adopted through Mini's Bulldog Rescue by my current family 18 months ago, but they are moving to London and the vet said a long-haul flight wouldn’t be in my best interests. They are devastated because they love and adore me. Before living with these guys, I lived with another family who had little kids and due to a change in their circumstances I ended up spending a lot of time at home alone.
I’m a low maintenance kind of gal, who is happiest to snooze most of the day away in my bed (or even better – on the sofa!) The best part of my day is when my family gets home from school/work and we have a big cuddle, pop out for a 15-minute walk, and then I go back to bed until dinner time! This makes me perfect for apartment living or someone who works full time.
As an older lady there are also a couple of things I don’t like. One is being tied up – it really upsets me. This means you can’t take me to the shops or café and expect me to wait outside for you. The other is cats – I don’t mind seeing one in the street, but don’t care to share a home with one!
I've never shared my home with another bulldog. I'd prefer my family all to myself so please someone adopt me who doesn't have pets already. Please be warned that I only need a short walk each day, but if I don’t get one I WILL follow you around the house whining until you give in!
Other than that, I’m a gem. A wonderful, happy, friendly girl who is great with kids, great at walking on a harness and the absolute best at big, warm, bulldog hugs.
I am currently living in Melbourne and available for adoption to a suitable home in Victoria. Please complete the adoption application form https://www.minisbulldogrescue.com/apply
Medical notes
I have a couple of small health issues – dry eye which gives me poor eyesight, but is managed by a good face wash and eye drop medication from the vet when required. Like all bulldogs I need bath with Malaseb medicated shampoo every 2 weeks’ so I don’t get itchy with paw allergies.

Applicants will be assessed in terms of best suitability for the dog. A meet & greet and yard inspection are essential parts of the screening process.
The first 2 weeks for every adoption is a trial period to ensure that both the dog and family are a good match. And once everyone is happy the dog's microchip will be changed across to the new family.
