Sumiko

Sumiko has had a tough life, she had been abandoned. When she came to us she was craving human attention, we soon realized that she walked funny so we checked out her feet and seen that one of her nails was deeply imbedded into her pad, so off to the vets she went and we got that sorted, but even after her tootsie toe was all better she still had a weird walk and would on occasion when she got a bit excited she would fall over. Sumiko is on pain medication and she thinks that she can run a mile, we do not encourage this as she has severe hip dysplasia and after a trip to the specialist we have been told that her brain is not communicating very well with her hind legs, so neurological issues.
So what does Sumiko need in a family. Someone who is really after a lap dog, she can play for a little bit but does get tired very quickly, she does not cope very well in the heat at all and she will need help with toilet training as she was an outside dog. She does not like other dogs and is not scared to tell the big dogs off! She seems ok with cats. She will be on pain medication for the rest of her life and we don’t know how long that will be but she deserves a home and lots of love, preferably someone home a lot or that could take her to work as I am sure she will just fall asleep at your feet or on your lap.
