About Scout
Hi. I'm Scout - a bit shy but stout!! My Human Foster Mum says I'm such a good little (20kg and knee height) dog. I am well behaved and smart. I was a bit shy when I first moved in with her a couple of weeks ago. It took me a little while to learn to trust her, but WOW, I'm attached now - it's amazing what a little time & patience will bring.
I like nothing better than to lie on the bed watching TV with my Human Foster Mum, however, I learnt within days that this is a treat and I'm not really allowed on the furniture.
I know the common commands (sit, stay and come). I'm get VERY excited at walk time but I settle quickly and don't pull on the lead. I love socializing with other dogs, and chasing birds is such a fun game (I have no hope of catching them). My foster mum plays catch with me, but she laughs and says I'm GOOFY because I'm useless at it. I don't jump unless I'm asked to.
When my foster mum says ""hugs"", I'm allowed to run and jump up for a cuddle. ""Hugs"" my new favourite word, what a wonderful word. I'm not a puppy any more so am house trained & very well mannered around my favourite humans. I do crave attention & am food orientated so would be easy to train with treat rewards. I am so grateful for this second chance to find love & stability - I'm am definitely keen to ""scout"" you out & see if you have what it takes to be my new BFF!!
I'm still not keen on loud noises and water. I really would love my own permanent home. I will be happiest where someone is home most of the time, or where I might have a doggy companion. I am good with kids older than 16 and adults, but I haven't been exposed to younger kids or cats yet. I've met cockroaches and I love them!
Oh, and I tend to shed (maybe because it's summery right now and I'm hot), so I would adore being brushed regularly. Please give me a kind & caring home if you think I'm the dog for you. I will repay you with unconditional love & affection - I will adore you for the rest of my days!! I am the complete package - what more could anyone ask for in a canine companion?!!
