About Sugarbag
This lovely lady is a really fantastic dog. She is great with people of all ages and really well socialised with other dogs - friendly and playful. She has loved being in care and welcomed the chance to relax inside and have cuddles and company. On our bush walks she is mostly off lead and is careful to keep tabs on her foster carer while she is having a look around. She has been on the lead a little bit and accepts it quite well, but Sugarbag does love to be free and since she is so very trustworthy we like to let her have her freedom when we can. She’s fully grown, of medium size (22kg) and her long legs give her an elegant look.
Sugarbag belonged to a local indigenous family in Elliott who collected a few too many dogs! They asked for help to rehome some of their crew so they could just have a manageable number of 3. Its been hard for them to surrender Sugarbag because she is so lovely, but we have assured them that we will find a wonderful home for her where she will be loved and cared for. We can see her in a family setting, and she would be definitely appropriate with another doggy family member too.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Sugarbag's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Sugarbag is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
