Absinthe

While Absinthe's alluring face and unique voice draws him plenty of attention among staff and visitors, it is his curious character that makes him a truly captivating individual.

Absinthe was rescued from less than ideal conditions and carried into the care of AWL NSW where his rather grey and quiet life became a world of new faces, colours, sounds, and smells. While this certainly sounds appealing to us humans, for Absinthe it was a time of confusion and fear, and his journey from then has been about courage and learning.

Absinthe is still a flighty fellow; one minute you see him, the next you don't, but he is learning to love the little things and to adapt to the strange and unfamiliar in his new environment. To Absinthe, toys are heaven, and scrambling and rolling around in blankets is a daily ritual. Treats of any kind are a delight, and if you catch him in a moment of confidence, a little head pat might even be enjoyable.

Absinthe has grown comfortable in his shelter housing, but his ultimate goal is to fall into the arms of a kind and understanding family who can help him to continue unravelling his spunky personality. In a quiet and dog-free home, with a caring human pal beside him, we believe Absinthe will eventually unleash the full power of his playful character.
