About Winchester ~ 5yo German Shepherd (On Trial 8/3/20)
This dapper gent is Winchester. Winchester is a 5 year old German Shepherd. Through no fault of his own, Dog Rescue Newcastle are helping him find a new home; Winchester’s owner has a physical injury that means they sadly can’t meet his exercise needs.
Winchester is a very friendly loving boy who loves to say hello. Looking for a water baby? Because Winchester just loves the water in any form – creeks, dams, troughs, puddles! He will jump straight in and flop down.
This handsome boy has good manners and has basic commands; he sits for his food and is a smart boy who would pick up further training easily. He can be excitable at first on the lead but a good harness would assist with this.
He has been used to being with his owner most of the day so having someone at home who only works part time would be good. Being a big boy, he would be best placed with teenage children. He is used to sleeping inside and would like to be fully included in his new family's like.
Winchester is keen to meet all dogs but would be best suited to another calm dog. He loves the ladies so he would prefer to live with a female more than a male.
Winchester lives with cats and likes to shower them with love (which the cats do not always return). He may be suited to living with cats, but we would always recommend a slow introduction.
Winchester’s home should have secure fencing, although he is not an agile boy… in fact he may need a lift into the car!
For more information please submit an adoption questionnaire (available https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt) or contact Jenn on jenncaine@gmail.com. Winchester is in the Singleton area and is available for adoption interstate.
Winchester’s adoption fee is $350 which includes desexing, vaccinations, treated for fleas and worms, and microchip.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
