About Mara
Hi there, I’m Mara! I’m a sweet girl who is learning the ropes of pet life in foster care while I wait for my forever home.
I’m an outgoing girl with a bit of a cheeky streak, so when we’re together I’m sure to keep you entertained. I don’t mind if you have a small house or an apartment either – I just love playing and spending quality time with you, so as long as we can do that then I’ll be ever so happy!
Oh, and I just love hanging out with other dogs so I would be very happy to have a doggie playmate in my new home!
A note from Mara’s foster carer:
Mara – cheeky and a bit boofy.
She loves having another dog around. She accepts kisses from Buddy and will steal Buddy’s toys but more often than not is just happy to observe him and lie on her bed. She would probably do well with another dog or an owner that likes hanging out and chilling with her.
She doesn’t like the rain but is easily convinced when Buddy is out with her. Most of the day she likes to laze around and occasionally comes over for a cuddle. She is vocal if she needs something or sometimes just vocal for the sake of attention-seeking, hence the cheeky.
She loves her toy lamb and has it in bed with her. She’s good on walks but sometimes can get fixated on small fluffy dogs. Trying to distract her during these times are tricky but having said that, she has said hello to many small non fluffy dogs and appears to be relaxed and calm.
She has a good appetite and eats chicken, rice, etc. but really likes tuna.
She’s a smiley gal with a lot to give.

Adoption details
We will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks. We have dogs that are small dog and cat friendly.
We expect greyhounds to be 'indoor dogs' and not left alone for long periods of time. Ideally they would have a doggy or human friend for company most of the time.
