About Stelvio
What a pup!
Stelvio is one of a kind. This tiny bundle of cuteness with his ‘too big for his body’ ears is just adorable. In contrast to his tiny body, Stelvio has a big personality. He is full of life. He runs through the overgrown grass in the backyard for the pure joy of it. Stelvio is happy to explore independently but also loves your attention and can be very human orientated. He loves to give kisses and his little tail wags super fast when you interact with him. There is definitely a soft and gentle side to this little boy and he deserves to be just a little bit spoilt by his new family.
He has been in foster care with two of his siblings, 3 adult dogs of varying sizes and a cat. Stelvio is very social and gets along with all of the other animals in the house. He has very good dog manners for a puppy and is able to interact with even the biggest dog in the house appropriately. Stelvio has shown a more submissive nature around the other dogs but also loves to play. He enjoys toys and playing tug of war with his siblings.
Being a terrier of some description, it is expected that Stelvio will have relatively high energy and exercise needs. His new family will need to be active and committed to daily exercise and stimulation to meet his needs. However, Stelvio is showing an indication that he has an ‘off switch’ which could be fostered to make him a very well-balanced canine companion. To bring this side out in him he will do best in a home with older or no children so that he can get consistent guidance. Like any puppy, he will require training and this should extend beyond puppy school into adulthood. He is a smart dog who enjoys learning things and would enjoy engaging in further activities of any description.
We are looking for an experienced and active dog home where he will be a loved member of the family and included in the daily activities and taken on adventures. Stelvio will need a home with another playful dog for company, though exceptional homes where someone is home most of the time will be considered. He should be allowed access inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night. Stelvio is well suited to living with other types of pets given the appropriate guidance. He is currently only 1.5kg and very little so it will be important that fencing is secure and there are no gaps through or underneath gates/fences. He is not recommended for unit living, is not recommended for small or young children and is going to be too active to be a lap dog.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
