Hey everyone! My name is Maggie. I am one lucky girl... I was left in the council pound and when I ran out of time, I was pretty worried...thankfully a great guy came and rescued me! I am now in the search for my happy forever after and never looking back.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. Firstly? I'm adorable. Second? I am GREAT with other dogs, and even the cat! I have only been out of the pound for a short time and yet it's already clear how great a dog I am. A gentle, sweet girl, I get along great with everyone! My exact breed mix is unknown, but we suspect wolfhound x shep x kelpie. As an adult, I will probably reach 30kg-ish. Where I live currently, I am an outside dog, and chill out during the day in the yard with the other dogs while my humans work (around 8hrs a day). At night, we sleep in a kennel or on our beds under the patio. My fence is only 1m high and I show no desire to escape - I've got it too good here!
My leash skills are coming along nicely, and I sit well in the car. At the vet, I am well behaved and compliant, even if I get a bit nervous. I know basic commands, and love to play with the footy or other balls. I'm a very sweet, easy-going girl who would fit into most homes. My ideal home has another dog for company, will take me out a few times a week to run sniff and roll, and if you want me to sleep inside I'd love that- but please be patient with me as I haven't lived inside before!
I can't wait to meet my new family - do you think it could be you?
Adoption details

- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
