About East
East is a beautiful young girl who came to us a very nervous puppy, not having been well handled, however she's made enormous progress since being in care with a busy family. She can still be nervous around new things and noises but she warms up to people pretty quickly, especially if you are good at tummy rubs! East took some time to get used to a lead and harness but with lots of time from her foster family she is now very good. She's an active dog who will need regular walks and exercise to keep her physically and mentally fulfilled. While an obedient and clever girl, she can be a bit jumpy/nippy when excited or playing, and her new family would be best waiting until she's well settled into her new home before letting her off lead, because her recall with new people isn't great - with her foster family she does come when called :) She loves other dogs of all sizes and enjoys racing around the yard when other dogs come for playdates. This is when East's fun loving side comes to the fore and it's great to see her running and playing, simply enjoying life.
East needs an adult-only household or a family with older kids and a quietish environment. A family who will spend quality time in helping her build confidence. She would also benefit from training classes and continusing to socialise with other dogs. She's not suitable for a household who work long hours as she needs companionship and to build trust. East is house trained and will sleep on her bed beside yours at night with no problems.
East is your typical young dog who loves to bark when playing and also likes to dig, so someone with a sandy area or who is not too precious about their backyard would be ideal! If you have the time to put into giving her a stable, experienced home with lots of confidence-building guidance and routine, she should develop into a great companion in her new home. Beautiful East has not been tested with cats, not suitable for very young children simply due to their noise level.
Please let us know if you think you can be East's new partners on her onward journey.
