Rita Devereux is checking out her new home!

Please note: Rita we have found has mammary tumours. She has had a CT scan and will need two specialist operations to remove these. This will be at VicDRG cost and she will be a foster with a view to adopt until her operations are over. But she deserves her own home. If interested contact us for more details.

Rita Devereux is the sweetest, happiest, most loveable girl. She is exuberant with her affection. She gets really excited when she first sees you in the morning or when you return home – she marches on the spot with barely, contained, excitement. She cannot wait to show you love and affection, however, she has been well trained and knows she must wait and not jump up.

On the point of training – Rita has excellent recall, she knows her name, sits on request, waits patiently for her bowl to be placed in front of her, walks well on lead and she is toilet trained. She willingly offers her paw for a handshake (perhaps a little too often) and she loves a good, belly, rub.

Rita is very friendly towards other dogs and simply loves cats – she whimpers when a cat is in vision and just wants to say hello. She is far more excited by cats and is rather indifferent to dogs, although, she happily plays with the dogs who share her home and willingly welcomes new doggies she meets.

Rita will make the most amazing addition to a high-energy family, who are prepared to give her the exercise level she requires. She is definitely not a 10 minute walk a day girl.

An ideal home will be where someone is home a lot of the time and where Rita will be involved in all the family outings. Due to her excitement level, she will be best suited to older children. A large backyard or a rural space will be the best environment for this lady.

Rita has so many wonderful traits and she cannot wait to share them with her forever home.
