About Willow ~ 9 month old Whippet x ~ On Trial 22/3/20
Willow is a gorgeous 9 month old Whippet X. She is a very energetic and playful girl who is still very much a puppy and needs an owner who can help her to be the best dog she can be.
Willow is sweet and affectionate and super interested in the world around her. She’s always right beside you to see
what you’re doing. She loves playing in the water and with her favourite toys. As with all puppies Willow needs regular exercise and would be best to start her day by burning some energy.
Willow is currently an only dog but would do best in a house with another dog who can match her energy levels, and with plenty of space to run! She is not an apartment dog. She does need to learn to share with other dogs and until then will need to be supervised around food.
When meeting new dogs or seeing them on lead, Willow can carry on a bit, and she will need help to get on top of this. When she warms up she is fine and playful, though the whippet in her means she may play rough at times. Willow does live nicely with a cat now so may be suited to a home with a cat but we would always recommend a meet. She chases farm animals so farm life may not be for her!
Willow has some basic commands and we are looking for an owner with the time to invest in her training, and in finding training that is suited to her learning style. She is very responsive to treats but will need consistency and training that helps her focus. Willow especially needs help to learn that no one really appreciates her jumping at their face!!
Willow can use a doggy door and sleeps inside. She will need to be allowed inside with her family when they are home and to sleep inside.
Unfortunately due to her age and jumpiness, she is not suitable to live with small children as she could easily knock them over when jumping.
Willow is looking for a home where she is treated as part of the family and being very young still, someone home part time would be ideal for her. She can't wait to meet her forever family.
You can apply to adopt Willow here: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt. For any questions not covered by this profile you can email DRN.jenn@gmail.com. Willow is located near Maitland (west of Newcastle)
Willow's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms.
Medical notes
Happy and healthy young girl.

(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
