About Freya
Freya is a 2.5 year old Kelpie mix who has an absolute heart of gold! From what we can tell, she has had a tough start to life and has had a few litters of pups before coming into care. Thankfully for this girl, she is now desexed so she will never have to do this again!
Despite her rough start, this happy go lucky girl is great at loose leash walking and has great manners. She has been in foster care for just shy of two short weeks and has already learnt so much! She knows to go to her bed inside when she is asked to, she is great in her crate, she will hand you her paw when asked and can also sit and drop. She really seems to enjoy training sessions and learning new tricks.
Freya is friendly with her foster brother and quite easily able to walk side by side on lead - however we think she would prefer to be an only dog as she isn't fond of off leash play with other dogs. This may be something she could learn - but she is really more of a people dog at this point in her life.
She absolutely loves to run around the yard, play food games and chew on her cow hoof and goat horns! She is learning to play with toys (squeaky, fluffy toys are her favourite so far) and how to play fetch & tug. Though she still has some work to do with these games as she's never had anyone play with her before. She loves to snooze and will happily sleep on the couch or on her bed all day if you let her.
She is very affectionate, loves to snuggle and is always up for a pat. She has such a gentle and lovely nature. She's truly an amazing dog.
Freya would love a home where she can be both inside and outside, with someone who will treat her like one of the family. While she may not ever enjoy a trip to the dog park or a busy off-leash beach, she would love a foster family who can keep her active - help her learn to play and not let her waste her days away snoozin'! Despite being more more than capable of keeping herself occupied while you're out and about, she'd be happiest if her new parent/s were home a fair bit as she does thrive on human company.
