About Bear ~ kelpie x, 18 months
Bear: 18 month old Kelpie x. World – Meet Bear; the most beautiful dog, in looks as well as temperament.
We don't know much about his past existence, but this dog is an absolute delight.
In only a matter of two days, Bear learned and responds to the sign language command for 'Sit.'
He is highly intelligent and very loving, but still timid and a bit unsure. However, he is starting to trust and love his foster carer, who absolutely adores him.
We think Bear is around eighteen months old and is a mix of Siberian Husky, Kelpie, Border Collie and Australian Shepherd. All this information is hearsay and highly debatable.
What doesn't need debating is the fact that Bear is a stunning boy with a lovely and loving nature. After a bit of a rough start to life, and looking younger than his eighteen months due to being a little malnourished, Bear is working to reach his ideal weight.
Being very food motivated and highly intelligent, Bear is going to be quite easy to train. He already knows his name and the word, ‘come’ and is learning to sit. Toilet training is a work in progress. However, he is learning to go to the door when he needs to, especially first thing in the morning.
We are told that Bear gets along well with other dogs and has tried to make friends with his feline foster brother, but to no avail. However, Bear is not a fan of chickens.
With his smooth coat that can easily be cared for with just a bath and the occasional brushing, Bear is very low maintenance. He would be happy as an only dog given plenty of love, attention and exercise, but wouldn’t mind sharing the love with other dogs in the home.
If you feel you can provide this deserving dog a loving, permanent home, please contact Nora on 0418 402 150 or email dogrescuemudgee@gmail.com. Bear is in foster care in Bathurst, NSW.
Recently surrendered to Dog Rescue Mudgee, Bear is looking for a permanent home.
Bear is de-sexed, vaccinated, free of fleas and worms and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email to receive an Adoption Questionnaire.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
