About Charlie
Charlie is a three-footed-Staffy (try saying that three times quickly) with a heart of gold!
We don't know how Charlie lost his foot, however it doesn’t stop him from living life to the fullest.
He loves human attention and will happily be right by your side, no matter where you are.
A sucker for his toys, you will need a backup or two on hand as he loves to show them who’s boss!
He knows how to sit, drop and will manage to roll over for a belly rub every single time. He is a quick learner with quite good recall, as long as there aren’t too many distractions! He is dog door trained and will let you know he needs to go out, if there's no dog door.
While he does socialise well with other dogs outside of his home, he can get a little jealous if he’s not the centre of attention so would love a home where he is the only dog.
He loves to roam the yard, but curled up on the couch inside is where he prefers to spend the night - unless your bed is an option then he will be the best hot water bottle you could ask for!
Charlie just needs a little patience; we don't know his history prior to coming into care and are learning new things about him every day.
He will make the most loyal and loving companion for a forever family that is willing to take the time to get to know Charlie and introduce him to new things gradually, so as not to overwhelm him.
What we definitely do know about Charlie though, is he is a very smart little dude who is super keen to make his people as happy as he is!
Charlie is in care in Traralgon East
Medical notes
Charlie appears to have either been born without one of his back feet, or lost it an an early age. He can still do everything a four-footed dog can do, his family just need to be mindful that although he technically has 4 legs, he supports himself on 3!
