About Rusty *On Trial in His New Home*
*RUSTY IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Meet Rusty! He’s a confident pup whose good looks and beautiful BIG Staffy smile are guaranteed to win hearts! He’s looking for a fun-loving forever home with another playful pooch for company; will it be with you?
Recently surrendered to us through no fault of his own Rusty is relaxed and very welcoming of everyone he meets – his tail wags at a million miles an hour and rarely stops! He’s an American Staffy though at 21kgs and almost 9 months old Rusty is closer in size to an English Staffy. While in foster care he has been living with a mature male dog who will occasionally tell him off if he gets a bit too rambunctious which Rusty takes note of and backs off straight away – he hasn’t got a mean bone in his wiggly-wobbly body.
Some of the things Rusty loves are car rides, being pushed around Bunnings in a trolley, food, splashing around in the Murray River, toys, chilling under the aircon, other dogs, sunbaking and of course humans of all shapes and sizes! Having never met a cat we’re not sure how he’d go with one so a cat-free home is probably best.

Given his young age Rusty has wonderful manners rarely jumping up on anyone, unless asked, making him terrific around dog-savvy children. He is also gentle when taking treats and has shown no sign of aggression around food. Rusty knows “sit” and “wait”; he is smart and seems to figure things out quite quickly especially when they benefit him! He’s not licky or in your face and he rarely barks only doing so for a reason. Rusty hasn't spent much time on a lead so could do with some more practice.
Loveable Rusty is house-trained and given that Staffies are happiest inside with their family and they shed little hair, we’d like to see him in an indoor / outdoor lifestyle in his forever home - he currently sleeps inside with his carers dog and you don’t hear a peep out of him all night.

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
