About Archie
Archie was born 21.12.11. You wouldn't think he is just over 8 when you meet him. He's just as enthusiastic about life now as he would have been when he was just a wee pup. Archie is a Cavoodle in very good health for his age. He is a stunning boy who needs a caring, supportive and dedicated owner who is familiar with animal behaviour and is confident to take on the challenge of re-educating an older dog who may have been lacking boundaries in his past life. Archie is good with other dogs, cats and chickens, loves car rides and walks but can also be the perfect lounge lizard partner on a rainy day once he becomes part of the family. He is very loyal to his family and wants to be a part of everything so, when left alone, he does suffer separation anxiety and will require owners who are prepared to work patiently and gently through this. Because he's a fast learner and willing to learn new things, we're confident that, in the right hands, given love and encouragement, he will blossom to become a wonderful companion to his forever owners. He is responding so well to positive training with his foster family and this training will need to continue if his adoption is to be successful. Ideally we would like to be able to introduce Archie to his new family slowly at first with day visits and occasional sleep overs, until he learns to trust and love his new friends. If he’s rushed into a friendship he can become nervously defensive which should be avoided if possible. Archie would be most suitable for a retired couple looking for a friend to take with them wherever they go. Archie is in care in Millaa Millaa.
