Wendy is a 5 month old bull Arab/Rhodesian ridgeback cross with a short smooth, trouble-free coat. Like all teenagers, she is full of energy and loves the rough and tumble of playing with other dogs or you. She is being fostered with a small, older dog and doesn’t understand that he doesn’t want to play with her. She has an open, loving, easy-going personality with a gentle side and is not destructive. She loves a cuddle and having her tummy rubbed.

On her walks she loves meeting new people and other dogs but tends to jump up as she is so happy and excited, which could be a problem with small children. Some simple, consistent training should sort that out! She responds well to positive reinforcement, knows some basic commands and is learning some road sense. She is intelligent and learns quickly.

She is still somewhat concerned about the strangeness of the street but as she is curious about everything around her, she is getting more relaxed on walks by the day. She doesn’t see the need to bark at or chase these strange noisy objects and she doesn’t generally pull on the lead. Neither does she try to chase cats or birds.

Wendy will be a very big dog. As she is still basically a puppy she is not quite house-trained, but she is learning. She is still teething so needs lots of stimulation, toys, and things to chew. She would suit a family that will allow her to sleep inside, take her for lots of walks, take her to obedience training and include her in everything they do.
