About Doc
Happy 'goodboy' Doc is just waiting to greet his forever family with smiles and love. This 4-year old noodle of affection wants nothing more than to make you as happy as his happy face is!
Before coming to Amazing Greys, Doc was a bit starved for attention and spent his first 3 weeks in foster, shadowing his carer around the home. He still likes to know what his humans are up to but has also learned that he doesn't need to stick to you like glue, and his confidence is building. This has been helped by the company of his foster brother (another greyhound) and we think Doc would do best in a home where he has another greyhound for company.
Provided Doc has another hound for company, he can be left home 'alone' while his humans are out. However, he would do best in a home that has some time to help him settle in before he is left alone (with his canine sibling) for long periods. For this reason, a home with PT workers, or people who are around a lot would be best. We will consider applicants from FT workers only if you have a couple of weeks to help Doc settle in prior to leaving him for long stretches.
Doc walks nicely on leash with the usual greyhound 'zig zag sniff sniff' to take in the world. He doesn't like cats and can be a bit too interested in small dogs. He loves stuffed toys and for you to throw a ball or a toy in the yard for him. Some days he'll even bring it back to you! He loves cooling off in a paddle pool. He's a brave boy - not scared of thunder or swooping magpies, but also a typical sensitive loving greyhound - he really loves a snuggle from his humans. He loves travelling in the car and going on little adventures. Doc is great with all people but can forget his size and is still learning not to jump up to say 'hello'. For this reason, he would be best suited to a home with no small children or elderly people.
If you think you might have the 'pawfect' home to offer our happy houndie Doc, please contact us at adopt@amazinggreys.com.au.
*Doc is not suited to living with small/medium dogs or cats*
