Rusty

Hi, I'm Rusty and I'm looking for a new home.

What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I like both male and female dogs
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation - I LOVE toys and playing Tug of War
• Lots of love and attention

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard for long periods of time
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Cats, rabbits, guinea pigs & livestock - they are way too exciting and I may want to chase them.
• Small children due to being mouthy & bouncy
Small dogs as I may be too excitable and bouncy for them.

My best features:
• LOVE people
• Happy to hang out with other dogs but I may be too much for small dogs
• Very playful
• I can sit, shake hands, come, lay down and roll over
• Wiggle butt

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I can be a bit mouthy when I get excited and playful - training needed to stop this

ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET RUSTY BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
