About Sam ~ 3yo Kelpie x BC x Lab (On Trial 22/2/20)
Sam is a very handsome 3 year old kelpie x border collie x lab who is very excited to find his forever home.
Sam loves the company of his people and likes nothing more than to be close by. He tends to get lonely if left on his own so if you are seeking a companion, Sam would be ideal. Sam wouldn’t suit being left on his own on a full time basis. Sam enjoys his family time but likes his time outside exploring the yard. He is a pretty chilled, easy going dog!
Sam is toilet trained and lets you know when he needs to go. We feel Sam hasn’t had much formal training so we are looking for someone experienced in positive training techniques as we do feel he would be eager to learn given the opportunity. Some training classes would be great. Given his high energy levels and love of exploring someone active would be great also.
Sam has been exposed to chickens and although he finds them interesting, he isn’t looking to disturb them. Sam is dog friendly and enjoys their company so having a furry friend would be nice but not necessary. He likes the company of female dogs but males he finds a little full on for him. He hasn’t been exposed to cats.
Sam has recently had surgery to fix his cruciate ligament but has recovered well and is now ready to find his new owner.
Sam would best suit someone retired who is active or a family with teenage children. Someone home more often than not would be best.

(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
