About Polly Pocket
Miss Polly Pocket is finally up for adoption! **strictly indoor only home**
For those following this girls journey, you know how much of a fighter this tiny kitten is! She came to us cold and lifeless with barely any blood left in her body from parasites, no one thought she would make it on multiple occasions but she wanted to live... and fought like hell to be here!
Miss Polly Pocket is one little girl with the biggest personality, attitude and mind of her own.
When you first meet her she can be a bit standoffish because you don’t get cuddles for free, you need to earn them! but when you do it’s totally worth the groveling at the start!
Initially when you hold her she will sit there grumbling, her foster mum nicknamed her Angry Kiddy! 😂
She’s been raised in a foster home with kids, dogs and loud noises and isn’t phased by them. Kitty friends need to earn her love just like the humans do, and it’s so funny to watch them try while she acts like the queen over them 😂 and she gets very cross if a peasant kittens bowl is near hers (like her brothers) and if they get too close she puts a paw on their head to stop them getting any closer.
When she approves of you she does like to lay on your chest purring and keeping an eye on everything going on around her from on top of her throne. She also likes to have a good run around and play in her dainty play-style.
She is really quite the characer and you never know what she might be doing next!
We’ve been through so much to get this girl ready for adoption so we are looking for the perfect home for her, so please let us know a little about the home you have to offer when enquiring 🙂
MEDICAL NOTES
The whole litter came in to care infested in fleas and had a parasite in their blood causing anemia, after a month on antibiotics they are now fully vetted and ready to find their forever homes this weekend! Please read to the end for more information on the parasite.
Pollys brother Latte is also up for adoption
They are both desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated
Adoption fee $170 each or $300 for the pair
Located in West lakes
****Fact sheet on the parasite for adopters***
As kittens we had Mycoplasma Felis, Many cats who live outside probably have this and you would never know unless they had a weaker immunity.
What is it- a parasite in the blood which attacks the red blood cells
Is it contagious- only to other cats via fleas
Symptoms- lethargy, pale gums, decreased appetite
Treatment- one month on antibiotics
We have been treated and finished our antibiotics a few weeks ago. In rare occasions in the future cats can have “flare ups” when they’re really stressed or run down. If I display any symptoms please tell the vets I had this as a kitten so they know to check to see if it has come back, then I can go on antibiotics to clear it up before I lose too many red blood cells. To test me they need a PCV and blood smear, I was previously tested at Greencross vets Paradise.
If I’m adopted into an only cat household-
I need to be kept indoors only to reduce my risk of catching fleas, and I need to be treated with a spot on flea treatment anytime you see fleas (this is also the case if I’m adopted with one of my siblings)
If I’m adopted into a multi cat household-
I need to be kept indoor only but I also need a good quality monthly spot on flea treatment each month to prevent me from getting fleas in the first place so it never has a chance to spread
Thank you for giving a special kitty like me a home ❤️❤️
