ABOUT MAXWELL

Maxwell is a super sweet young boy who is looking for a family to give him the love and affection he deserves. Maxwell loves his humans and will be your shadow, push his head into your hands for scratches and make himself comfortable on your lap for a snooze.

Maxwell can be very timid and nervous when meeting new people and dogs and needs a calm, quiet and stable home while he gets his confidence. Although he is child friendly he is known to howl when babies cry so a family with older children is preferred.

Maxwell is an inside dog who doesn't like being left alone and is known to cry/whine. His new family will need to continue his training so he learns being left alone is okay. A secure fence close to the ground is required.

Maxwell loves chasing the hose, is learning to pay fetch and can now sleep in his own bed without crying. He's very smart and eager to learn more having already learnt sit, paw and wait (for food). And he loves food!

Having another dog is fine as long as it is tolerant of Maxwell's playfulness and need for human cuddles. A doggy companion might make it easier for him to be left alone.

BEHAVIOUR NOTES

Separation anxiety - can whine/cry when left alone.

Maxwell loves human companionship and will whine when left alone (even with another dog companion).
Since being in foster care and with some training he now sleeps in his bed outside the bedroom with the door closed and does not whine.
He will cry if left alone but with some training this can probably be managed/reduced although a family who is home more often would be best.
