Oska *On Trial In His New Home*

*OSKA IS CURRENTLY TRIALLING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* They supersized the love when they made this big, beautiful boy! Oska, is a handsome, friendly-natured dog who is looking for that special someone who understands and has experience with the Maremma breed plus has a job for him to excel at; will it be with you?

Oska currently resides on a couple of acres where he protects his alpaca, chicken and turkey mates but unfortunately all the surrounding properties are vineyards with constant activity 24 hours a day (especially during spraying and harvest) which means poor Oska is on active duty 24/7 and his relentless barking, mostly at the itinerant workers, is driving everyone batty including Oska who is just trying to do his job! He really needs a home where he can enjoy doing the work he was bred for without all the added distractions.

Adorable Oska just wants to please his humans and he’s described as a bright boy who listens. He also knows his name and has fairly good recall if he’s not too preoccupied being the guardian that he is. He’s lived with another dog, however has not been socialised with others so we’d recommend he goes to an only dog home. Cats are not an issue for Oska, he’s happy to protect them too. And he loves children though, as he does tend to jump up when excited, more robust, school-aged children would suit Oska best as he may accidentally bowl the little ones over.

Oska hasn’t been on many outings off the property, so if you were to exercise him on lead we’d recommend a Gentle Leader or Easy Walk harness to ease the enthusiasm of getting out and about. He is an outside only dog though we suspect he wouldn’t mind coming inside on the odd occasion if he was allowed.

Oska’s only silly trait is chasing and trying to catch thunder; luckily we don’t have too many storms here in Mildura!
