About Bundy
***Only homes with a desexed, confident, equally active adult (not senior dog) will be considered***
Please read completely before enquiring,
Bundy will only be going to the very specific type of home stated below.
Experienced and understanding home needed.
When making an enquiry for Bundy please include some information about the other dog in your home and your experience with timid/anxious dogs and the type of home/lifestyle you can offer Bundy.
Bundy is a lovely boy, but is quite timid/ anxious around new people and out in public.
He has gotten better however some of his behaviour is quite ingrained amd he will do well in a home with attentive and patient owners, who can help him feel safe and not put him in situations where he will feel threatened or too overwhelmed.
We believe he suffers from anxiety and it is strongly recommended that his new owners seek professional advice from a behaviour vet to see if medication combined with further training will help him better cope with the things that now frighten him.
Bundys is not your typical dog who wants to come with you everywhere, but rather a homebody who enjoys what he knows and gives his love and affection to those who earn his trust.
Bundy is gaining more confidence all the time but is still easily startled and, for this reason he will not be suited to be off lead outside the home, except for in securely fenced areas as if startled he has been known to run.
He settles into a new home after a few days, but needs to be given time and space to adjust at his own pace.
Once settled Bundy is actually such a smooch. He loves cuddles and gives kisses. You want to pick him up and cuddle him, no worries he loves that too.
On a cold night he likes to snuggle up close and if willing, he would love to join you under the covers!
A home with another desexed, well socialsed calm adult not senior dog is essential for Bundy to keep him company and help with his confidence, and willing to take them for walks in areas to meet new dogs and people to continue being socialised outside of his home.
He loves the dog park!
Before coming to rescue Bundy didnt understand toys however now will play with toys- which he now loves balls and getting the idea of fetch and harder chew plastics. No soft plastics either as he rips them to peices!
He isnt a huge fan of walks but does walks best on a head halti, but as long as calm can also walk well on a collar. He is much happier being walked when it's dark when there's not so many things going on to startle him.
He needs an attentive home that will pay attention to his moods and will refocus him if he looks unsure.
Training and treats at home, as well as trust will do that. He knows 'sit' and 'come' commands during walks. Bundy does not respond to treats when fearful so his family need to be calm and work with him.
He loves quiet beaches and lakes but again needs to be kept on a long lead for his safety, but doesnt care much about shell pools odly enough!
Bundy is a happy-go-lucky man at home and will bound around like a typical pup once comfortable and comes to his name when called most of the time.
He sits and waits for an "OK" with food, but sometimes if hes unsure, you do have to step back and be a little more encouraging with the "OK".
He will sit and wait to go outside and is toilet trained up to 6hrs inside.
Bundy can be overly affectionate to cats, licking them and loves to shadow, but he means no harm to them and is happily living with a dog-savvy cat- in fact he would love a home with a cat!
Bundy is a super pup and despite his timidity in public is a all-round sweet and gentle dog who has a brilliant temperment.
Bundy is a special dog, and any home would be lucky to have him.
He is not suitable to a home with kids under 12 as he may be frightened by loud and fast movement or a home with lots of different people coming and going.
Medical notes
Bundys new owners will need to be willing to have him assessed by a behaviour vet and prepared to follow their advice if they prescribe medication for his anxiety
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
