About Shadow *On Trial in Her New Home*
*SHADOW IS TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE*
Meet Shadow! She’s described as loving, loyal and fun! Shadow would love a similar-sized playful male dog for company in a home where she can have indoor/outdoor access at all times as this is what she’s gotten used to while in foster care.
We don’t know what breeds make up Shadow, so our vets have guesstimated there’s some Staffy in there, and we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some Bull Arab in her too.
Shadow really likes to play tug of war and “chasey” games with her foster siblings. Her day consists of play sessions and frequent naps alongside her canine buddies. We’ve found that Shadow gets along best with male dogs as she can get a bit bossy with strong-willed females like herself.
Shadow is great with puppies and can often be found mothering the orphans who her foster mum takes in. And she adores cats displaying calm and safe behaviours around the dog-savvy felines in her foster home.
When you first meet Shadow, she may jump up in excitement as she likes to welcome humans with open paws! Shadow loves interacting with all people, but would be best suited to a home with secondary school aged children or older as she may accidentally knock littlies over with her playful exuberance.
Food is what Shadow really enjoys so this will help with any further training you’d like to do with her. She will “sit” and “wait” for her dinner or a treat, and a clear command redirects Shadow if she gets overly excited and tries to grab the treat from an outstretched hand. Shadow knows her name and has terrific recall which is a bonus! We hear her next goal is to master rolling over!
Shadow loves travelling in vehicles and climbs into a car willingly. She is reasonably calm on a lead though could do with some more practice in her forever home. Shadow would be best suited to a home with an indoor/outdoor lifestyle as she is toilet trained, well-behaved inside and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. Outside, a secure medium to large size yard is a must, and a sprinkler or a doggie pool she can splash around in will complete her home as this girl loves water!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
