About Ryder - No Longer Taking Applications
Ryder is a delightful companion that would make a fantastic family pet with another resident dog. He is a unique combination of most likely corgi and kelpie. At 10 months of age, he is still a puppy who loves to chew things into little pieces, but has learnt manners such as toilet training, travelling well in a car and even recall. He is in foster care with a toddler and cats, and would happily live with cats that don't run away - if they do, he will chase because he wants to play. Ryder looveeess other dogs and is pretty submissive with them, so he would love a home with another dog for company. When there are no other animals to play with, he just wants to sit at your feet, or next to you on the couch at any opportunity, never tiring of pats. Ryder came into care with an anxiety around leads, where he becomes statue like once you put a lead on him. He is very keen to please, so he will learn and respond well, but his forever family will need to be prepared to teach him that leads are a good thing that involves fun activities, as this hasn't been his experience. And although he is kelpie x, dont expect a ball chasing dog - he is confused and a little scared at why you are throwing things!
We would ideally be looking for a home for Ryder with a resident dog. If not, we would be looking for a home where someone is home more often than not, or be able to take him to doggy day care. He loves other dogs and would benefit being taken to a doggy park daily!
Medical notes
Ryder is a healthy happy little boy, who has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
