About Rogue
Hi everyone, my name is Rogue!
I was surrendered to Lort Smith quite some time ago, when I broke both of my back legs. You see, I was a little silly and pressed the down button on an electric car window and proceeded to jump out whilst the car was in motion.
I have been in the best ever foster home for the past couple of months. My foster carer was wonderful, she completed physiotherapy sessions with me three times a day, took me to physiotherapy sessions at the pool and now, thanks to her, I have improved so much so, that I have now had the all clear from my Veterinarians to go up for adoption!
I still have a little ways to go in my recovery, and will require ongoing physiotherapy to help me with straightening out my foot, as I do tend to knuckle it when walking at times. My foster carer made me a special little boot that helps me walk correctly.
I also have sensitive skin and tend to have itchy flare ups, so this will need to be managed for the rest of my life.
In my new home, I will need an active family that will be able to take me on daily walks, provide me with lots of mental enrichment and set aside time to play with me on a daily basis. I would also absolutely love going to obedience training to build up on my already learnt skills, this way, I can become the best doggo that I can be!
I can go to a home with another dog, but they would have to be of similar size, are calm, have obedience and know how to play appropriately. I will unfortunately not be able to go to a home with any small animals, as I do tend to enjoy the thrill of chasing a little too much. It’s not that I want to hurt anyone, but I do need to learn appropriate ways in which to interact.
Until I learn some manners, it would be best if I do not go to a home with young children or the elderly, as I do get excitable and would never forgive myself if I accidentally hurt anyone!
If you would like to know more about me and to possibly book in a meet and greet, please call the adoption Hub, the staff will kindly assist with any questions you have.
