River 🐾

Introducing River, our 9 week old Bull Arab x Mastiff boy....This boy has such gorgeous blue eyes and gentle nature. He has an outgoing personality and although he does have lots of energy, he is also fairly chilled at times. He loves to explore his surroundings, but still loves to be with his people and follows them around. River is a sweet and gentle boy 💕

He is currently in care with 1 of his siblings, 1 host dog, cats & children. Whilst he's been keen to play with the cats in his foster home, they are not so tolerant of puppies, so there has been no close encounters during his time in care. River loves playing with his sibling and host dog, but also happy to spend some time on his own, doing his own thing. He also loves to snuggle with his humans at nap time. He is great with kids and currently living outside in his foster home (outdoor covered pergola).

River sleeps soundly through the night, curled up with his sibling in their cosy kennel. Toilet training is well underway, so with persistance and ongoing training in his new home, he will have this perfected in no time.

We would love to see River find a home where he had the company and guidance of another dog, but he would also cope quite well as an only dog as long as he had the company of his humans. River loves to play with his sibling and learning all about toys and the entertainment they provide. River will need plenty of socialisation as a pup and into adolescence, as well as training, so he grows up to be a well mannered and socialised adult.

At this stage, we think River will be a medium to large size when fully grown, so you would need to be prepared for this. He will need a medium to large size yard and a home where he will be treated as part of the family 👨‍👨‍👧‍👧🐕🐕

As with all our pups, we strongly recommend enrolling in Puppy school. River will need continued socialisation with other dogs during the puppy stage and into adulthood.

We would love to help get you started with training, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.

River will be ready to head off to his forever home from Thursday 19th December. He is located in Matcham on the Central Coast NSW.
