I've been adopted!
About Meeka
You'll love the feel of my soft velvet fur, you'll love the sound of my rumbly purr.
Once I have loved you, you'll never look back.
Everyone needs their own black cat!
Meollow hoomans,
Just in case you didn't hear me, my name is Meeka or Meeks or Meeki, depending on foster mum's mood. /Eyeroll. To describe myself I'd say I'm a sleek black panther that loves being near my humans.
If you ask mum to describe me she'd say I'm a real lady who knows what she likes and will tell you what she doesn't like quite happily. Mum is teaching me how to respond to this with greater finesse. I have been around placid dogs and think they are ok. I'm not keen on sharing my space with other felines or tiny humans that may not understand my boundaries. At the moment I'm not huge on the whole lap cat business, I like lying near mum while she heaps adoration upon me. I have been known to try and use my paws to stop foster dad from walking away before my love quota is full then he can continue on his way. I'm looking for an older family to enjoy my forever with.
Before coming into care I was a mum myself and my babies have all been adopted and now I think it's my turn to find devoted slaves to call my own. Mum doesn't know what my life was like before coming into care, I know I like being an inside-only cat or out in my run. I don't like being outside my run or home. Inside it's much safer and I get yummy food.
Mum would recommend I don't have young children in my new home often as I really like my space and have set boundaries that I'm rather firm on. Mum says I like to serenade her of a morning and evening to make sure she feeds me, she never forgets though I just love having a full tummy and a cozy doona to snuggle in.
Note: due to COVID-19 flight limitations, interstate adoptions outside of QLD/NSW involve overnight kennelling and may be expensive. As this is to be organised and covered by the adopter we recommend doing research into transport options prior to proceeding with adoption as we are receiving a large number of interstate enquiries. Companies include Jetpets and Pettainers (flight transport) or Dogmovers and Rides4Rescues (East Coast road transport) to name a few.-
