Syd loves car rides, visits to the park, lying in puddles and cuddles. Syd is also on a weight loss diet. Don’t be deceived by the photos, this big boy weighs in at 46kgs and his ideal weight is 35kg. He doesn’t pull on the lead very often but potential applicants need to be aware that he is a strong boy who has the capacity to pull an inexperienced or small handler.
Syd is friendly with other large and small dogs and although he can become excited wanting to meet other dogs, he is a clever boy who responds very well to training. He is good on the lead and enjoys a brisk walking pace. Syd rarely barks as long as he has daily exercise and plenty of play time to keep him calm and happy.
Syd requires owners who are dedicated to caring for his beautiful coat and maintaining his weight loss regime. He needs weekly brushing for maintenance and daily brushing during shedding time. He enjoys being brushed as long as his hair is not left to become matted and uncomfortable.
Syd loves to be inside with his humans at night but he happily spends the day outside playing chasey with his foster sister. Inside the house, Syd prefers lying on a towel to a dog bed however he is very comfortable on the couch. He only eats the corners of dog beds when he has not had enough exercise.
Syd would love to be part of an active family that have time to share their love and affection. He will lap up every bit of it, and return it in spades.
