Baxter

*baxter is currently trialling his new home* baxter the little gem!!!! this adorable fluffball must’ve been way too young (4 weeks max. ) when he was dumped at our local pound on 26/5 as the local laws officer’s mistook him for a maltese x. It wasn’t until his adopters went to collect him from the vets that they were told he was actually a kelpie x so not the right type of pup for their small courtyard. The vets advised he could go back to the pound but there was no way his adopters could allow this especially knowing he was too young and undernourished to even be vaccinated let alone desexed and that he might not survive the ordeal this time around so they took him home and contacted sarg for help. The great news for baxter is that his “adopters” are now his “carers” while we find the gorgeous little guy a more suitable forever home!

baxter is a happy, normal puppy who’s getting stronger every day now that he’s in a warm home being showered with love and good food. With the help of some antibiotics he’s getting over the nasty upper-respiratory infection he picked up at the pound and his cheeky puppy-side is coming through. Baxter’s carers say he’s so clever and is quickly learning the basics such as ‘sit’ and ‘down’ and ‘no’ when he gets too excited!

being a kelpie x baxter will benefit from ongoing training and socialisation with other dogs. He will also need a good sized, secure yard and chewy toys and walks to keep him stimulated. Baxter would enjoy an inside / outside lifestyle with either another dog for company and to learn from or a home where he won’t be left for long periods of time and get bored.
