About Axle ~ Husky x Malamute ~ On Trial 24/1/20
Introducing our effervescent and stunning Axle. Axle is 1.5 year old Siberian Husky x Malamute who is charming and friendly when meeting new people. He is a bubbly and energetic boy who loves people, enjoys the company of canine friends and doing zoomies. He is also a bit of a love-bug who enjoys cuddles and pats from his favourite people (you!)
Axle thrives with a good walk each day, he would make a fabulous jogging partner. He gets a big smile on his pretty face (yes boys can be pretty too!) when he knows it’s time for a long walk or car ride (one of his fave places is being your wing-man in the car). Being a young lad he does still pull on lead so would benefit from a front clipping harness to rein in some of his husky energy. He absolutely loves water and swimming so if you live near a lake or the beach he’d be in heaven.
Axle is curious and loves adventure so he'd be a great match for an active family who will allow him to join their daily activities. He likes to play with other dogs so he would enjoy a canine buddy to play with. He may be content as an only dog as long as he receives a lot of exercise, stimulation and is allowed inside with his family when they come home from work. He gets a tad excited when he is first let inside the house (zoomie time!) but will then settle down with you for some cuddle time. He currently sleeps outside very happily.
Axle is clever and is very fond of treats - he will do anything for food so training is rewarding for both you and him. He has nice manners (often food bribery is involved) when asked to sit , wait, drop, touch and shake and he will wait until you say “eat” before touching his dinner. Due to his breed mix we recommend a home without cats, chickens or pocket pets.
Axle enjoys playing with balls and is a champion at the game of fetch . He’ll need a medium yard for playtime during the day and good, secure fencing (he is an arctic!). He is best suited to a home without babies or children, however teenagers older than 15 years (especially those confident with bouncy, energetic dogs) may be OK. Ideally he’d love a home with an arctic experienced couple whose kids have already left the nest.
If you have arctic breed experience and no children under 15 years (or no plan for children) then please contact us on rescuepooch75@gmail.com for more information on Axle. Axle is located near Penrith, Sydney and he is not available for interstate adoption. You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Axle’s adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he’s been treated for fleas and worms.. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
