About Blackie **2nd Chance Cat Rescue**
The health and safety of our foster carers, volunteers, animals and visitors to the rescue is our main priority. Due to the State of Emergency that is now in place in Victoria we will not be holding Adoption Days for a while. We will however have Meet and Greets, so if you see a kitten you like to meet, head to www.2ndchancecatrescue.com.au and fill out an application form. We can then forward it to the foster carer who will contact you to arrange a time that suits you both to come and meet the kitten.
Blackie used to be a street cat that had decided to call our foster carers back yard home. At first he was very timid and ran if anyone approached him, but after a few weeks of discussion and a few good meals, Blackie started to trust people, and after a while even enjoyed Pat's and scratches!
Once he was able to be handled, he was sent off to the pound to serve his time, but nobody came to claim to poor boy.
Blackie is now back where he began, at our foster carers house, only this time he is inside not outside.
Despite all he has been through, Blackie is fast becoming a super affectionate and funny boy! He comes when he is called and he likes to rub against your legs before he eats his food, we assume he's just saying 'thank you'!!
With just a bit more TLC this boy will make a great addition to the right household.
Blackie would be happiest in a home where he can have access to an outdoor enclosure, or potentially as a farm cat. He has been around other cats and certainly can exist with them, however he likes to be the boss and will make himself right at home wherever he wants!
Blackie is located in Mount Eliza
