What's kickin', little chicken?

It's me, your home-slice Speck. What's a handsome kid like me doing at a shelter for? Well... My story begins with an amigo of mine (who has now been adopted). We were rescued out of a back garden as we had been abandoned and left to fend for ourselves. Although the start of my life has been pretty unfortunate, I have to keep looking at my bright and hopeful future.

I'm a very sweet and sensitive guy, but due to my history, I can find it hard to trust people. Once I get to know people, I bond pretty strongly with them and can become very attached - it just takes me time to get there. I would like my new family to take things slowly with me and understand that I'm going to need a lot of time and patience. I would like quiet, strolls around the bush or someone secluded - I love to use my sniffer! I'm not about the hustle and bustle of city life, I would much prefer a quiet and calm home that is consistent and relaxing.

I was out on foster with a cool human who took great care of me! I lived with another dog and we got on pretty well. I would like it if my new humans either worked part-time or from home as I can stress a little when left alone. I could also live with another calm, mature dog pending a meet. I would also like to be the only child in the home - kids are very loud and unpredictable; which doesn't really suit me right now!
