Hi, my name is Lari. I'm so glad you have stumbled across my profile. Let me tell you a little about myself... I was rescued by Off The Chain from death row in a council pound. I was unbelievably thin, and had bad fleas- I was literally skin and bone. We don't know what kind of monster owned me, or why they dumped me, but it's the best thing that ever happened to me! Since coming into care I have really flourished. My carers had to feed me 4 small meals a day so that I didn't get sick from refeeding. Despite all this, I am a gentle, sweet girl. I have no sign of food aggression, but as with all dogs, my carers don't leave bowls and bones out. I also will have no long term affects from my neglect!! I have amazing luck and am never looking back.
I am gaining more confidence as time goes on. I do still get scared at times and just need positive reinforcement. Things like, loud noises, or the clicking of the professional camera, can make me a bit edgy but if you just tell me it's ok, I come round quickly. I trust and love my humans. I currently sleep outside on the patio at night, and am learning new things everyday. I live with 2 other adult female dogs- one of them is Elastica, another large breed and starved dog rescued by OTC (so don't worry if in my photos you see a really thin black and white dog- she is safe and recovering with us!). The other is a staffy x who my carers adopted...and ALL 3 of us came from the same pound in regional Qld. How crazy is that! We get along great and often sunbake together. I love having doggy friends and will definitely need one in my new furever home.
I know basic commands and LOVE learning. I live with a young family and love them to pieces. Their 8yo son is so much fun to play with, and so is my little 5yo human friend as well. I travel well in the car, and am easy to handle at the vet clinic and during baths. I currently live behind 6ft fencing, and would need that fencing or some sort of electronic system, in my new home also. I enjoy going to the park or for walks 3x a week. I have not met cats or livestock. If you're looking for a golden-eyed, gentle and friendly girl who will repay your love with constant friendship and loyalty- I am your girl.
Please if I sound like a good fit for your family contact my rescue today. I am ready for my new life.
Love, L x

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
