About Gilbert
Poor gilbert can't work out what has happened to his elderly owner. They used to spend every moment of every day together and now that has all disappeared from gilbert's view. His elderly owner is too frail and sick to care for him any longer and the family took the option of surrendering gilbert to the pound. Why did they do this to poor gilbert? i don't know and can't understand it any more than poor gilbert can. In fact, he whispered in my ear that he does have some time left, in fact lots of time if all goes well for him. Gilbert has asked that i find him a home where his owner will spend time with him just like his old dad did. He doesn't ask for much, some nice food, a bath every couple of weeks and a brush a few times a week. Gilbert likes to sleep on the bed with you and does snore (sorry but it's his breed he told me, they have a funny palate or some such thing) he doesn't care if he doesn't have a doggy companion and small children might scare him a little therefore a retired couple who will not leave gilbert on his own might be just the shot as he does fret when left for any length of time. It's best to be honest as we want gilbert to be loved for the boy he is. Gilbert had his teeth cleaned just last week and didn't require any extractions which was a good thing. He also had a yearly heartworm prevention injection. Gilbert comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and with local council lifetime registration for the special adoption fee of $150.
