About Chico
Chico has come into our from a Sydney Animal Shelter after his former owners gave up on him. You see Chico came into care with sore ears that needed immediate veterinary attention.
Through neglect this dear gentleman had suffered years of pain and discomfort with his ears. He was immediately taken to our German Shepherd specialist vet for the most current ear treatment.
It won’t be a quick fix but Chico is out of pain and on medication to ensure he is in the mend.
Chico would suit an older family or couple who are happy to enjoy a gentle boy who enjoys a short walk each day. Playtime with his toys and just a comfy bed inside where he can keep watch over his humans is all Chico desires.
Best suited as the only dog in the home and yet untested with cats or pocket pets.
Chico is in foster care at Cumberland Reach and will come with his medication to continue with his ears, his own doona bed and dry food.

Medical notes
Chico is desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated on heart worm treatment, and on flea and tick Prevention.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
