About Rusty
Hi, I’m Rusty!
I’m an 18 month old male Bull Arab who has been in foster care for the past two months. I have spent this time learning all about the wonderful things life has to offer! My foster family had planned to adopt me but unfortunately due to no fault of my own, they are no longer in a financial position to do so.
I get along well with my foster sister (a 3yo Kelpie mix) and have learnt to play gently with her as she can be a bit of a scaredy cat. She likes to play with toys, but I am not a big fan of them. When she is playing, I like to have a nap! Day napping is one of my favourite activities - in fact, I can fall asleep basically anywhere! I also love sun baking on the grass in the backyard or on the couch beneath a window.
I walk well on a lead, have learnt to wait before crossing the road and can also sit on command. I am well behaved around my food and know that I have to sit and wait until my meal is in bowl before I can eat. Speaking of food, I am very motivated by it, I will do anything for kangaroo treat!
Scratches under my chin and behind my ears are my favourite kind of pats, but I will take all the other kinds too. My foster dad keeps telling me that I'm not a lap dog, but I keep proving him wrong!
I am very gentle with my 2yo human foster brother - he likes to sit in my bed with me and read books to me. I sit (or lay down) and wait quietly for him to finish and pat me.
I would love to go to a forever home where I can be inside and outside. If I have another doggy friend to wrestle with that would be fun, but if not, as long as I have some human companionship and cuddles, I will be happy!
I am desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and have been heartworm treated monthly.
