Hi everyone!
My name is Stacey, my sister Macey and I came into care after our breeder couldn't sell us and finally asked for some help rehoming us responsibly. Are we one heck of a success story or WHAT! While we are very friendly and gentle girls, we were absolutely terrified. At 5 months of age, we had never left our breeder's yard, never been in a car, never met other humans besides our family, never been inside, never been to a vet... so as you can imagine, everything was absolutely terrifying to us!! We were so scared we shut down and couldn't walk, and had to be carried inside...
The first two days in care, we hid and shook mostly. Thankfully my carers were patient and coaxed us with treats and snuggle time. I was very brave at the vet, and let them do what they had to do. After they checked me out, and found I was a very healthy and lovely girl, I was split from my sister. We were relying on each other too much see, and it was time for us to stand on our own four paws. So off I went to a new home...and boy did I FLOURISH. Within days, I was calm, happy, excited to see everyone, and loving life. I now live with a small breed dog, and a medium breed dog, cats, and also a mini human and lots of adult humans come and go. My confidence grows every day. The second time I had to go to the vet, I was way better. While I do seek reassurance from my carer, I don't have the same soul-crippling fear I once had. I have at all times been gentle and trusting, and have a world of opportunity in front of me. I love my daily walks, and am getting used to walking on a leash.
I have learned sit, stay, come, shake, and 'in' (the car etc). I like tug-a-war, fetch, and chewing on a bone or pig's ear. My carer is safety conscious, so I have never had a bone when around other dogs, as I don't know how they will act. I often have a little 3yr old human visit me, and let her use me as a model for pretend makeup and hair dressing. I get little leaves put in my 'hair' and just lap up the attention, under my adult human's watchful eye of course! At night I sleep outside on the deck, with the other dogs. We have our own couch out there. If I was allowed inside, I think I'd like that. I seem to be pretty naturally house trained, so as long as you're willing to continue to teach me, I should be ok as an inside dog too! I currently live with cats, they don't come near me much, but I don't seem to wish them any harm. I should be ok to live with cats if my handler is confident in proper introductions and the cats are dog friendly. My current fence is only 1.2m, and is fenced back from the footpath. I seem to have no desire to escape it. My ideal home has another dog/s for company, and a fence either 1.2m or higher.
My biggest flaw? Baths freak me out...but it's no biggie. Either use a hydrobath, or, swipe some peanut butter up the bathtub for me to lick off, and I'll be so distracted BAM the bath is over and I never knew it! Also, practice makes perfect. I just have to learn baths= treats hehe. Ps if you see a weird brown patch on my belly, don't worry! It's from where they shaved me so I could get desexed and live a healthier life. It will grow back! So will the little patch on my arm.
So what do you think? Could you love me? I know I could love you... please apply to meet me asap!!
Medical notes

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
