About Toby
Hi everyone!
My name is Toby and I am on the hunt for my forever family.
I am an approx 15 month old Border Collie x Kelpie. My house in NSW burnt down (with me and my puppy brother in it) about 7 weeks ago and a few days later I moved to Brisbane with my foster family. After weeks of extensive bandage changes to treat the burnt pads on my feet, I am now almost mended and I am ready to experience all that life has to offer! My puppy brother has already moved to his new home - so now it’s my turn!
I get along very well with both my foster brother and our recently fostered sister. I am a very calm and tolerant dog - my foster mum says that I am an old soul because I am so cool, calm and collected and rarely do I let anything phase me. She thinks with some more training, I would be a great delta dog as I am so gentle, loving and obedient. I would love to have either another dog to play with and/or an owner who can be home more often than not.
One of my favourite things is to be inside watching TV while laying at the foot of the couch. I often get so comfortable inside that I fall asleep and roll onto my back with my legs in the air! I taught myself how to use the doggy door so that I could go out to the bathroom whenever I want to. I love to fetch (I will even bring the ball back to you), tug and do zoomies around the yard. I can sit, drop, come and am very well behaved on a lead. I am food, play and pat driven.
I have been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm treated. I may need a few the occasional checkup at my vet in the Redlands area - as some of my toe nails are still growing back. I’m a bit of a celebrity there and love all the care and cuddles they give me!
I am a great dog and will make a great addition to your home.
Medical notes
Toenails growing back after burns to feet. Pads on the bottom of his feet are still quite sensitive while the usual tough pad skin develops. As such, his pads are more sensitive than normal to heat and hard/sharp objects (sticks, twigs etc). Walking on nice grassed areas is preferred for this boy until they are back to normal in a few months time.
No active medical treatment needed - just the occasional checkup.
