About Peanut
PEANUT
Did you know that Peanuts are one of the healthiest things around?
Yes you got that right! The humble Peanut…well I am not THAT humble I just thought it had a nice ring to it.
I happen to be an amazing older gentlenut (I am no gentleman, I have four legs and fur - eye roll). At 6 years old I am past all that truly undignified puppy stuff that is sooo embarrassing for owners. Although I have to say that I do sometimes indulge my playful side which is kind of awesome but if you tell anyone I said that I will deny it.
Walking me every day will be extremely healthy for you. (See already you are feeling healthier) You will have someone to talk to on your walks so that people don’t think you are crazy talking to yourself (mental health check right there). I will NOT however be your running buddy as my heart just isn’t in it! My heart has a murmur, however I am not on medication at the moment but might be in the future. (Again good for your health as it has been proven that walking is better for you than running) I am also SUN SMART as I wear sunscreen on my nose to stop sunburn.
When I see other dogs and people on my walk I am a bit wary but usually like to meet them. However if it is a very excited dog or person well then “MEH” not my type really and I would rather just move on. (See still keeping you healthy, no stopping for a rest until you have reached your cardio goal)
I will give you a bit of a gym workout too as I am still getting used to my Halti. At the start of the walk the Halti and I have an ongoing discussion as to whether it will stay on my head or not. So I pull and wriggle just so the Halti doesn’t think it had a clear victory. (healthy muscle development)
When I meet people when they come to visit I am cautious until I can get a good feel for them and then I do get a bit excited and jump up a bit (this helps you with your eye exercises up – down – up – down) but I am working on that.
I don’t mind small dogs, in fact one of my best friends is the small dog at our back fence…we are BFFs and like to play a lot.
I have met a cat and it kind of looked funny and I had a bit of a sniff but that was all I was interested in. My foster mum even got new chooks and they were interesting for a sniff too. However I never see them free in the yard with me. I have never met children, though apparently there are mini humans out there somewhere.
Now I do love my food treats like Devon and foster dad gives me some of his toast with vegemite or peanut butter yummmmmy. I am not a fussy eater which is great for building my physique AND I keep you eating healthy foods by eliminating all unhealthy foods from your pantry!
Car rides? Oh I do love car rides! (no agoraphobia for you…you will be too busy taking me for rides in the car)
I don’t mind being left when you go to work because I play with my foster brother or just laze around with him. If you don’t have a doggy pal already then I would be okay if you are home a lot. If you come home and go out and come and go out then I get a bit unsettled trying to work out if you are coming or going…sigh. So I prefer you develop focus and are either in OR out.
I have my favourite couch in the house that is my bed and human snuggle place. I am a bit of a mum’s boy and I also am a cuddle-up-a-lot-us!
So to recap…I am the healthiest thing that can happen to you! I am snuggly, cuddly, curious, cautious, funny, quirky, cute as a peanut and best of all available.
