About Jack ~ 4mo Cattle x puppy (on trial 26/11/19)
A cattle cross called Jack, does it get any more Aussie than that?! This 4 month old pup is looking for adventure and a best mate to share it with.
The Cattle part is a definite, but we don’t know Jack’s background or breeding, so our best guess is that he may be crossed with a Huntaway or maybe a Pointer of some sort. This is because of his loppy rounded ears and very long legs. What we do know is that he is a seriously good looking dog! If looks are important to you and especially something unique, then Jack has it in spades. He has Cattle socks, a sleek, shiny and soft black coat, with perfect brown points and paint dipped tail.
Jack is a sweet sweet puppy. He comes when called, is learning to walk on the lead and can sit on command. He adores his big foster sister and loves to play with her and also cuddle up for naps. He’d love a big doggy brother or sister, but not imperative if his family are around a lot. He will make an excellent family dog, though it would be good if the kids were confident and respectful of a puppy and maybe not toddlers, as he is at that oh so fun age, where jumping up to give you a kiss is just what you do. He plays with toys and is ready to start exploring the big wide world. We are working on toilet training and he is sleeping through the night in a crate.
Jack will definitely grow to be on the larger side of medium given his current height, but he is quite slender in the body. He will absolutely need a large yard or acres would even better to run and burn energy. A secure fenced yard is a must and he will object greatly if not allowed in for some family time in the home. We think an active family who go on big beach walks, hikes, camping trips and adventures would be Jack’s idea of heaven. (Please no tying to the back of a ute though.)
We strongly recommend taking a new pup to puppy preschool and then on to a good manners training class of some sort. This helps with building your bond, establishing good recall, socialisation and reliable commands. A home committed to training Jack and who understands the intelligence of working breeds and their need for stimulation will be favoured.
As Jack is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
If you would like to meet this little piece of puppy perfection, please contact his carer at hitthesand@hotmail.com. He is currently in care in Salamander Bay. You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Jack's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.
Medical notes
