About Rex Jnr
Are you the family for this boy who found himself in a local animal shelter, for reasons we are not sure why?
This boy is 4 and a half years old. He is full of energy and has had basic obedience training, understands commands but needs guidance on controlling his exuberance for life.
Rex is active whenever a toy or ball is around but will settle happily inside or outside once play time has finished. He just loves attention, is very affectionate and would happily sit on your lap and be a snuggly Shepherd.
Rex is a compact German Shepherd being only just twenty kilos, so a good manageable walking or jogging partner. His foster parents are working on his manners and have found he is keen to learn and only wants to please his humans.
Rex will play fetch all day, he is reasonable on the lead and loves to sniff on his walks. He is living with an older female German Shepherd and they get on well although he is much too fast for her to keep up with him on a chase around the house.
Rex is fully toilet trained, crate trained, desexed, immunised, flea/tick/worm treated and his coat is low maintenance as he is short haired.
We do believe due to his fixation with toys he is not suitable to go to a home with cats, rodents or pocket pets.
Probably Rex would be better suited to a home with older children due his exuberance when playing but we can definitely see him excelling in agility or fly ball or being a jogging partner.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
