About Archie
Archie is a great little dog, who gets on really well with other dogs and is no trouble at all around people. He is on the smaller side of medium and used to being off lead and conducting himself well when he's out and about. He knows how to keep his nose clean and get on in society, that's for sure. While he likes human company, he's not dependent, and is happy to relax around the place when everyone's at work. One of his quirks is getting into a nice high spot where he can see around the place and be safe from interference while he has a nice snooze. He is good friends with the rest of the crew and loves a play with the youngsters too.
Archie is a camp dog who hails from dog dreaming country in the Barkly region of the NT. His community was very troubled at one time, and many people left the community. A lot of dogs were left behind and cared for by the Council until things got back to normal. However Archie's family never came back. Eventually he moved into the school and the teachers fed him and cared for him. He was a great favourite with the kids there and never caused any trouble, but his benefactors wanted more security and a real home for him, so he came to us.
Archie is a great low maintenance relaxed companion dog who would be great in a family and with another friendly dog. He has been an inside/outside dog and has a nice low key presence around the house.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Archie’s adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
