About Jimmy(radar)
Allow us to introduce you to Jimmy, or should we call him Radar with those ears? What a handsome boy!
Super smart and engaging, Jimmy loves to learn and responds best to kind, food based training. In fact he looks for guidance and rewards constantly.
His favourite game in the world is fetch and will bring mostly anything to you so you can throw it. He loves toys and will leap and bound and throw them in the air to catch if there isn't a human or another dog around to join the game.
Being a smart and busy boy he loves his Kongs stuffed with all sort of deliciousness. Jimmy will need lots of interactive toys to keep him occupied during the day.
Jimmy loves his humans and loves nothing more then a cuddle session on the couch. Even tho he doesn't quite understand he isn't tiny anymore.
In his foster home Jimmy has a doggy sister that he adores, however if Jimmy's home has an existing dog they will need to be large, tolerant and playful. Jimmy is lacking social confidence and will need a gentle and patient dog friend to help him feel more comfortable. Jimmy would be just as happy to be an only dog and does not need to go home with another dog.
He has been play pen and crate trained and holds on during the night, even going to bed with a treat and no complaints. Good boy Jimmy!
Toilet training while free in the house is, as with all pups, a work in progress.
Jimmy is a boy who until his foster home had been in a life where he had very little exposure to anything new. As a result he is quite unsure about experiences outside of his home. Because of this Jimmy's new family will need to commit to ongoing Force Free training combined with a slow introduction to the big wide world.
Jimmy will need a home with Adults Only as he finds little people a bit too scary at this time. He is also not suited to bustling or busy environment and will need a quiet and calm home and surrounding area.
**Application Process** When on the Pet Rescue profile push the "enquire about this pet" button. Follow the prompts to "send enquiry now" and in the message section please place information about the home you can provide. Include current/past pets and their breed, children including ages that live with you or visit, and any other information relevant to training/exercise/energy requirements. The information you provide helps us match the dog you've applied for to the most suitable home. We use this information in lieu of an application form. We do not take applications for dogs over the phone. We aim to reply to all applications within 5 business days. All of our dog meet and greets occur at the adoption center in Craigieburn. The majority of our dogs are in a foster home not at the shelter so you need to apply via the website to meet them. Thank you. www.secondchanceanimalrescue.com.au ...because they all deserve one!
