About Nova
Meet Nova! This gorgeous but shy boy has come a very long way in a short space of time and is now ready for the perfect home!
Nova came to SAFE Esperance as an owner surrender, and has settled well into foster care. He was very fearful when he arrived but has come around really quickly. He can be a little timid around men so may need some work in this area. He responds well to gentle and positive encouragement.
He is slightly nervous around children still so we would suggest a home with older children, 10+, as young children may unsettle him. He likes other dogs and is friendly with any canine he meets. He shows a little too much interest in cats so we wouldn't recommend a home with cats.
Nova walks quietly on his lead but can be nervous in new situations. Ongoing gentle reassurance will be needed to build up his confidence. He is housetrained, rarely barks, and is working on his commands. He loves his food so treats will be a great training tool for him. He doesn't like to be left alone for too long and will chew or fence jump if he gets bored or is left for long periods.
He loves to play throw with toys, and really laps up any love and affection he's shown. He has a cute habit of dragging his bed around to find the perfect place for a nap!
The ideal home for Nova will have a large secure yard for him to run around. He will need at least one good walk each day and be gently exposed to new situations and animals to build his confidence. He would suit a quiet home with someone who is home for a good part of the day, and could live with an other dog - preferably female - dependent on meet. No cats unfortunately! He will form an amazing bond with his new owner and would love to be their best friend and constant companion. He also needs to be able to sleep inside at night.
If Nova sounds like the perfect fit for your home, please fill out an enquiry form and we will be in touch.
